Having actually run coast to coast as an owner operator, I am finding this book very tedious. There are two whole pages of how to repair and change a tire. Exhausting. And then when he describes his thrifty grandfather as driving to Ohio (?) with two tires in a Cadillac Seville ( you know, the one with a cut back trunk), I knew he had no idea of what he was talking about. Two truck tires might fit in a big station wagon, pickup or van but certainly not in a car. That is, if they were normal truck tires (11:22’s). I’ll try and read more. Hope it gets better. I purchased this book after hearing the author on the radio and coming to the realization that most people I know (myself included) simply don’t know too much about truckers and how our goods get from place to place. I can say after reading this that I’m proud to share the road with truckers and am thankful for all they do. The author comes across as someone you’d want to get a drink with and just listen to him talk, always telling it like it is. I appreciate that! I laughed out loud at some of the wild high jinks he described.
